Kiss my Axe

…is not a line from DEM Emrys’ ‘From Man to Man’, but it feels like it should be. I like to read (that shocked you, didn’t it?) and between the sci-fi and the smut, I do like a bit of fantasy*. I came across Emrys on Goodreads last week: he’s done something quite clever (or at least I thought it was clever). Rather than giving away a few free chapters, he’s written a short story that acts as a prequel – it’s a nice standalone piece that introduces some of the characters that we’ll meet in the main books. I think that’s a really nice idea: I’m seriously thinking about trying it myself sometime.

Anyway, I grabbed the free prequel from Amazon and it’s very good. If you like classic fantasy (and a hero with a big axe) you should pick it up.
