Asteria News
Wow, I have quite a lot of news for you. Fire up the Tanya teletype (dit dit dar dit dit dit dar dar).
The Palace of Asteria has amazed me with its success: and that’s all down to you lot, so, in all seriousness, thank you. You make it possible for me to do what I love.
I had to go away and think about how to continue the series: the plot was already scoped out, but I had to get a handle on the size of the thing. Now that I’ve done all that, here’s the story.
First bit of news: there will be a third part and a fourth part, and that will be the end of the series (the end of Jagor and Lucy’s story, at least. There may be more stories set in Asteria, but they’ll be new series). Planning it with two definite parts (instead of the ‘release a part and then gauge whether to do another) is a big risk, but I owe it to you lot to do this properly, and properly demands doing two more. Doing two more means I can tell the story I want to tell without compromising, as I’d have to if I squeezed it all into one. Knowing where the series ends means that I can tie up all the loose ends in the next two books and make sure I don’t leave you hanging.
Second bit of news: I’ve been writing this for quite a while now, from shortly after the release of Palace, but I didn’t want to announce anything until I knew the shape of it and had everything worked out. Part three is already written and is with my editor. It’s substantially longer than either of the previous parts. It’ll be out in early February. I’m well underway with part four, as well, and it’ll be out at the end of February.
Third bit of news: The Asteria series is going to be released as a novel. This will be all four parts in one book, with some changes, but I won’t be adding reams of new material. The title will be Asteria: In Love with the Prince. There will be a paperback edition. I tell you this now because, if you want to wait for the ‘all in one’ version then I want you to have that option. It’ll be out at roughly the same time as part four (the paperback may take a little longer). I don’t know the price yet, but it’ll be comparable with other full-length romances.
Wow. It feels good to get all that off my chest. Should have a part 3 cover to show you soon.
